Thank you for visiting our website! As one of the leading Philadelphia home care agencies, we want to make sure our home care clients and their families feel comfortable with the people and level of care they receive.
One of the best ways to build rapport and trust is to get to know a person better! With that in mind, we wanted to introduce you to the staff of Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses. While the staff won’t necessarily be the personnel providing in home care services to your family, they are an integral part of our team, and set the tone for the services we provide to Philadelphia families. (If you’d like to “meet” our caregivers, visit our Caregiver Profile page!)
Let’s meet Kim, the Geriatric Care Manager for PA Agency of Nurses!
Kim began working with Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses in 2004. In her role as the Geriatric Care Manager, Kim coordinates care for senior and other designated clients. This care often occurs in the home, but Kim also coordinates care for our clients in facilities, as well. Kim is a key point of contact for families, therapists, physicians, and of course, the client! Here’s what she has to say about the importance of home care for seniors and others who need assistance:
“Home care allows clients to receive personalized care in the privacy and comfort of a familiar setting. In home care facilitates clients to remain as functional and independent as possible–providing a higher sense of of security and dignity.” In previous articles, we have written about the benefits of staying in a familiar home setting when transitioning from total independence to requiring some level of care. Familiarity can also be a great boon to clients undergoing changes in cognitive ability, such as Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia.
What is most important to you in your role at Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses?
“The most important role is for me to assess situations and act accordingly. I also need to keep all lines of communication open to assist all members of a care team.” This coordinated effort results in the best and safest outcome for PAN clients (read some of our Client Testimonials to see for yourself!).
Kim also emphasizes that many clients and their families don’t realize how possible it is to “stay home” and receive excellent care. In home care is a flexible service, so that clients requiring a couple hours each day will receive the same high level of care as those receiving 24 hour care.
Kim holds an Associate degree in Nursing, and has extensive experience as a Nurse Manager/Head Nurse, with time at Delaware County Memorial Hospital. She has a combined 27 years of experience in home care, and was also a liaison for AETNA health care. She was raised and currently resides in Delaware County.
