Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses (PAN) was started in 1987 with humble beginnings. Janice Guckin Barry, RN and CEO, founded PAN in a tiny office with a field staff of 10.
The goal was to provide the local community with affordable, quality In-Home Care.
Since its inception, Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses has blossomed to become a leader in the In-Home Care industry with over 120 caring staff members. We are able to coordinate your care, advocate on your behalf, and guide you or a loved one through the many confusing healthcare choices available. We pride ourselves on our rigorous applicant screening and testing process. PAN does not subcontract employees, and is not a franchise – all staff are PAN employees and are fully insured.
PAN is a state-licensed home care company and an active member of the Pennsylvania Home Care Association.
WHAT WE DO
Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses is one of the few nurse-owned, nurse-operated Home Care agencies serving Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Since 1987, patients and their families have depended on PAN to help with long and short term illness or disability. Our services include In Home Care for the elderly and those with special needs or disabilities, as well as Geriatric Care Management with our specialized team. Our aim is to provide the highest quality of care for you or your loved ones.
WHY WE DO IT
We do this important work because it is our calling. We are nurses and we have a special ability to bond and empathize with those in need. Our strength is our unique caring option. Because we are owned and operated by nurses, there are no unskilled decision makers; only a group of caring, experienced individuals ready to deliver the highest quality at home care. With over 60 years of combined experience serving older adults, we have learned that there really is no place like home.
When you make the decision to remain in your home, PAN is there to help. We understand how important the right individual makes all the difference. At PAN, we devote ourselves to hiring the most qualified, dedicated, and compassionate caregivers. We partner your particular skill requisite along with a compatible personality for a successful match. We encourage you to meet the caregiver or nurse in advance. When your care begins, a member of our management team will check in with you on a regular basis to ensure you are completely happy and comfortable with the services.

My heartfelt thanks to you and your staff for providing the support [client] and I needed for him to remain in our home on this long difficult journey. I am grateful for the care each one provided.
